I own and lead a leadership and organization development consulting and training company in Berkeley, California - being in this business provides many (sometimes too many) opportunities for global and regional travel - photography is a great way to keep a little balance in my life.

'Kimbar' has been my contact on Flickr for a long time now. Her primary genre, one could say, is architecture. But it is hard to say whether her eye for architecture has extended to seeing the abstract element in any scene, as clearly as she does... or it was the eye for the abstract which got her interested in architecture in the first place. She can shoot from a distance and get a structure's relation to a larger context, or bring out a single element such as a pediment or even a gate. Patterns, lines, shadows, reflection, repetition, frames within frames, colors - and combinations thereof - are all fair game (example: a little bird framed on three sides by the reflection of a building in an urban body of water, with the lines emphasized by shadows). She will see something interesting by the roadside, downtown, at a fruit-stand, in a cemetery, in a wet patch on a sidewalk, in Europe, in the Bay Area... anywhere! I think pretty much anything she posts is SOOC, or practically unedited - so good are her eye and composing. Her perspectives sometimes elevate ordinary scenes to special images. I have been on a 'photo walk' with her and seen how natural her photography instincts are. I enjoy Kimbar's frequent featuring of the Bay Area. I am grateful for the crisp feedback she leaves on my photo-stream.

I am pleased to write this testimonial for Kimbar! I always wait with eager anticipation for a new photo to be uploaded to their stream, which in my mind, is always of such a high standard, with the quality of a prize-winner! Keep up the good work, and congratulations!

One thing which amazes me about Kim is her apparent ability to have breakfast in New York, lunch in Barcelona, tea-break in London, dinner in Vienna and to end the day a couple of drinks in Venice! But to top it all, wherever she goes she takes her camera with her and that results in a wonderful and captivating rendition of her worldwide travels. However her photos are not simply "holiday snaps" but remarkably high quality and artistic shots. Kim is also a warm-hearted and reliable person. I am glad to have Kim as one of my friends. Only one thing though .... you never know when Kim will be at home ... :-) Looking forward to more of your wonderful photos ! Mike
