I am Kim Dever Thibodeaux, a native of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. I reside in Parks, Louisiana with my husband, our children, and our dogs. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love affair with nature. Growing up on the banks of Bayou Teche, "out in the country”, I was on a constant quest to experience, explore, and learn everything I could about the great outdoors. As a child I studied what I found, often using a magnifying glass, my child’s microscope, library books, and the World Book Encyclopedia. I couldn't wait to share what I learned with my siblings and parents. Today, I continue that quest using my camera and the world wide web. My photography allows me to share what I see and to convey

Nature abounds in South Louisiana, so I am always finding new things to photograph and exploring new ways to capture that beauty in an attempt to allow others to see what I see in my mind’s eye. Just as our Cajun gumbo is made with love and tradition from a variety of ingredients, my photography is also a labor of love and features a variety of subject matter with a focus on the nature of South Louisiana, and a sprinkling of people, architecture, and still life.

My goal as an artist is to present images that get people to really “see” the environment that surrounds us, to have those images speak to the viewer, and to connect with them on an emotional level. I hope to communicate the visual and spiritual beauty of the natural world so that viewers appreciate its wonders and complexity and work to preserve it for future generations.
