I've tried to balance education and community reform projects with art, craft, and photography. In 2008 and 2009 I worked with the International Rescue Committee to develop curriculum guidelines for the Sierra Leone Ministry of Education. Later I was one of two consultants to train 360 college lecturers in using the new curriculum and making the shift to learner-centered teaching. While there I enjoyed a taking "snaps" with a new digital camera.

My bucket list of adventures included exploring Iceland. After traveling there for 12 days in 2015, my bucket list has gotten longer. It's an awe inspiring country with much more to see.
