I live with my wife, four dogs and three cats on 17 wooded acres in central Missouri. I love living as close to nature as possible and am still amazed by the simplest of things. My wife and I are both long- time vegans and I enjoy growing as much of my food as I can. Potatoes, onions, garlic, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, herbs and green beans are my favorites. With our business and many hobbies, we don't have time to travel much so most of my pictures are an attempt to capture the beauty I see all around my property. I think of my photography like I once heard John Mellancamp describe his guitar playing. He said he didn't have aspirations of being the greatest guitar player, he just wants to be able to play well enough to write songs in order to tell his stories. I don't have much interest in learning all the technical intracacies of cameras, lighting and editing. I just want to know enough to capture the things I find interesting and display them so others might appreciate them as well.
