Born in a dumpster outside a seven eleven in Providence, R.I.
Kevin Nicholson still retains the odor, but has moved on to work as a tiny player in the entertainment industry. Lying to the media dept in high school. Kevin was able to get a hold of a VHS camcorder during certain occasions during his early teens. He played with the device fascinated by the ability to save moments in time. He then tried to shoot some silly shorts and music videos when he was able to acquire the device. All early attempts were juvenile and unentertaining, but it still cultured an interest in video and the arts. Kevin dabbled in wood carving, oil painting, metal working, environmental art, and just about anything creative he could attempt. After high school he went to community college, state college, and eventually film school. Although never acquiring a degree.
He went on to create a huge body of artwork in many mediums. Still bitten by the need to use a camera. He was fortunate enough to get his first camera and some equipment as a gift from his father. With this Kevin wrote and shot his first full length feature on a HI-8 video camera. It was 1993 when he undertook this venture. He edited this movie on two consumer VCR’s and made a horrible mess. His film was terrible. Kevin says that he felt very badly about it, because of that he hid in a 10' cubicle learning 3d animation for a year and a half. Working at McDonalds and smoking an unbelievable amount of “ The POT “. He emerged from that period a competent animator and was able to acquire a well paying job for Turbine entertainment working on a video game called “ Asherons call “ He acquired stock in the company and a thousand dollar check every week he worked there. At first Kevin felt like a true success, but with time he became frustrated with the cooperate job. He speaks of the job with disdain “ I was surrounded by guys who never learned social skills. One had nappy hair and the rest had never seen a woman before. It was time to leave. “ Kevin left the company and returned to his art. Working as an artist for local area businesses.
He moved to Putnam, Ct . Sold his stock and has been doing film and video ever since. His accomplishments include works like “ The Virtues “, “ The Silver Tree “ , and “ TOTEM “ . He has worked with others on projects as well such as ‘ School of Horror “, Eamons Road “, “ Landfall”, and “ Milo Cheffs “ House Party “ as lighting director, Cameraman, Assistant director, and many other roles. During his years of working in the industry. Kevin has auditioned thousands of New England actors and has built a reputation for being ruthlessly candid , an effective communicator, and a man of his word. He is also working on building a guard robot from old Amiga computers to defend his two cocker spaniels from the inevitable attack of the republicans. He intends to fix his teeth with the proceeds and continue making movies in the industry until he dies from being a chronic smoker, drinker, and sex addict.
