I have been interested in photography ever since I was a kid, using a 126 cartridge style camera, progressing to 120 and 620 style roll cameras (those made fantastic, crisp prints, with amazing colour). I then progressed to my first 35mm camera that I bought from a friend in the High School camera club.

In grade 8 I took an "elective" course which ran once per week on black and white darkroom procedures, and I continued to process film and prints in my home darkroom, high school darkroom, as well as an excellent darkroom run by the Air Cadet Squadron of which I was a member.

My first "real nice" 35 mm camera was the Canon A1, which I still own to this day.

In 2010, I finally bought my first digital SLR, the Canon 60D. I now have (as of 2018) a Canon 7D Mk II, as well as a mirrorless M5. I love to combine my love of flying, travel and cycling with my love of photography. The digital realm was a steep learning curve, which I am still climbing. Lots to learn yet, and I enjoy looking at other's photos to learn how they produced their amazing pictures.
