I don't, for the most part, take pictures to be viewed at 240x160 pixels, which is the size Flickr shows them at when you're viewing a list of photos. I like high-resolution images. There is detail in many of those shots, which you will have to choose a bigger view to see.

Yes, I could crop more aggressively to bring the details forward more, but then you'd only get to see one bit.

(And, well, yeah, that's more work, which would sometimes mean I wouldn't get around to sharing it at all.)
