My photographic thought for the day... "Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand" - William Blake

Hello all, I reside in Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland and I'm now very happily retired. I'm able now to enjoy my peaceful and unhurried world of photography.

I'm pretty diverse in terms of my photographic genres, but for me... my first love will always be for Black & White imagery. I think primarily because that's where I started my photographic journey and watching that first print appearing from nowhere in development tray. It's a bit like your first car... you never forget your first print.

That said nowadays... I exclusively use Adobe Photoshop and ACR for all my "heavy lifting". My work flow includes the use of a suite of tools from Infinite Tools. To speed up Luminosity Masking, I find that Lumenzia proves to be invaluable. Adobe Lightroom Classic, performs all my catalogue and batch processing requirements.

Perhaps further confirmation of my "old school" status is that... I still only shoot with manual focus, fast prime lenses. This I hasten to add is by choice, as I can still achieve the results I need, with what I have. It is not a slur, in any way of the more modern glass, which I'm sure is just and possibly more impressive than what I have.
