My name is Kern, I think truthful people walk up shake your hand, look you in the eye and tell you the truth. I came from the central part of PA, but settled in the south wertern corner of it. Married in the 70's, had to wonderful children, divorced a wife with to many dependency issues, and ended up being blessed with seven wonderful but terrible form time to time grand children. Along the way I picked up a camera (A Pentax K1000SE) and stuck with the brand through many changes in the photo world. (P5, SP, PZ, LX, 6x7, *istD and now a K20D) Along that path I gain enough knowledge to instruct photography classes and make a good living behind the camera. During this time I found a wonderful camera club: (westmorelandphotographerssociety.ning.com ) and have always enjoyed the interaction with other creative people. Near the top of my craft my personal life fell apart again and again and then suffered a career ending knee injury. I all but gave up on my craft for years during the extensive rehabilitation and fell into a deep depression. What I did have in my 10x12 foot room/cell was a laptop and started chatting with others on the internet. After a long period of time, I ran across this cute lady from the mountain wearingthis cute brown sweater ......finally convinced her to go out on a date, married her a year later, and found out I am not that disabled. Go Figure ....Vickie always wanted to be a photographer and Zip Bang she was given a DSLR and lenses and she excelled in her new found craft. We've had almost a year now of photo adventures and the light in her eyes has reignited my love of photography.

Well that's where I am ......found the love of my life after 54 years and happy as a clam. We are living amoung the Laurel Highlands in White. PA and enjoying the quiet life.
