"Kent" an english county in the south-east of the British Isles

"Smudger" a Fleet Street term for photographer, derived from the instability of the black inks used in newspaper reproduction of pictures.

I have always had some sort of camera, since I received my Kodak Instamatic at junior school age (which I still have somewhere). I graduated to 35mm with my father's half-frame Yashica, then to a real SLR, the Practica TL3.

Went digital in 2003 with a compact Pentax Optio 550 (now sadly deceased) and loved the instant feedback, the ability to experiment, review shots there-and-then and correct and learn from mistakes on the hoof. I started to learn so much faster but missed the SLR's capabilities so splurged on a Nikon D70 in 2005. It was a bit tired and crotchety after about 40,000 shots so it retired and I replaced it with a Nikon D200 at the end of 2009 with the proceeds of my first few paid commisions.

My pictures reflect my interests - mainly all things car related! - but I always carry a camera, so I can shoot whatever catches my eye.

Hope you enjoy the fruits of my labours presented here for your enjoyment. Please comment, criticism is welcome. It is interesting to learn what you all like, or don't like, and why.

I still live in Kent, I am married with three children, two cars and a cat.
