Ken Barton astounds me in his ability to beautifully document a side of people that ordinarily might not be revealed to a camera. Not only this, but in many cases he will document the same subject for years; allowing us the viewer to share with Ken the deeper, multi-faceted and ever changing vision of the subject that he has cultivated and brought to the surface. Ken's photography truly captures the essense of his subjects. He has a way of capturing that special something about someone whether it be the way that person smiles, the light catches in their eye or the quirky mannerisms that are a part of their personality. In other words, Ken is able to make his camera capture his subjects in a poignant and memorable way which transcends just aiming a camera and snapping a photo.
