When I was little I used to play video games, struggling to get to level B, level C, etc. where there awaited a whole new world of circumstances and challenges. When I encountered Kendrick, it was like being catapulted to level X- completely unfamiliar territory and thoroughly engaging. Like a translation of a language, you might think you understand the basic nouns but the conjugation will mystify you. A strongly brewed cocktail of inanity and insanity, with a wit so sharp the wound is bloodless and self-suturing. Despite her megalomania, this woman manages to embrace the moment and lay it down with her camera- NOTHING BUT NET! In this Flickr field of sunflowers that uniformly kow tows toward the unholy trinity of the fluffy, the saccharin and the narcissistic , she is the one pointing in the other direction.
