I love making images the process of looking through the viewfinder framing, adjusting, meeting my subjects or just taking in the scene; it's what drives me and gives me hope.

I've been a professional photographer since 1990 which is hard for me to believe but it's true, I have a degree in photojournalism and art for SJSU. The biggest challenge for me is getting beyond the shooting of the images; I'm lazy when it comes to sorting, organizing, adjusting, uploading images (especially when I'm not getting paid) but I'm going to work to get over that and get more images into the world here on Flickr.

I have so much envy and/or respect for those of you out there who on the path to master the wonders of Photosphop it can do so many cool things and I struggle to move beyond the obvious when it comes to working with PS, it's inspiring and depressing at the same time to see what's being down with it.

My background is photojournalism, I was a staff photographer at both the San Francisco Chronicle and the Contra Costa Newspaper Group here in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 12 years then after a slew of life changing events in 2001 I changed directions and focus from the world of daily newspapers to dog! I became the Dogumentarian Photographer. I mostly do dogs these days, shooting real black and white film, but other things do slip into my world as well and that's what you'll see here.

The dogs are mostly highlighted on my website www.dogumentarian.com, I'm sure from time to time they will make their way here. Follow The Dogumentarian on Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Dogumentarian/63363916005

So check back often and maybe I'll keep adding new and old images, trying to make some sense of them all.

enjoy

Kendra is one of my favorite people and favorite photographers. I just love the humanity in her photos (I guess i also love the dog-manity of many of her photos as well) Plus, when shes around life is just smoother. So, hire her, be her friend, or just enjoy her Flickr pages. You'll be better off.
