My involvement with images has been mostly scientific and technical; it's only of late that I've started to try to develop an artistic eye. I gained a first class honours degree in Photographic Sciences back in the early 80s, and a PhD in image processing and artificial intelligence later in that decade. Much of my work was in developing image processing software for handling and interpreting 3D medical images from CT and MRI scanners. I now have time to explore the artistic side of things. I have a fully colour managed workflow for processing RAW images from lightweight Sony cameras using Lightroom. I am partially sighted and therefore use lightweight photographic kit to make travelling on foot or public transport manageable.
