THE KEITH MCGOVERN COLLECTION.
Keith John McGovern "the gentle giant' instantly recognizable when out taking pictures as he always had his red Border Collie 'Zac' by his side. Sadly he lost his battle with cancer and died on the 20th November 2019 aged just 59. It is the intention that two of his railway friends - Adrian Nicholls and Richard Dyke will keep his photostream alive in his memory. We hope to continue the legacy Keith started when he first joining Flickr in 2007. Fresh images taken by Keith will be uploaded when scanned and time permits until the back catalogue is exhausted.
If you are an editor, publisher or an individual wishing to use any of Keith's images they remain copyright to his daughter by will. As administrators of Keith's Flickr photostream we are more than happy to receive requests for use but please make contact first. To this end for a more prompt reply please Flickrmail either Adrian Nicholls (Marra Man) or Richard Dyke (NIGHTSHIFTWORKER) and we will endeavour to give you a speedy reply.
KEITH IN HIS OWN WORDS :
I am a retired Firefighter and served with Lothian and Borders Fire Brigade for over 31 years before retiring in 2010 at the age of 50. I then treated myself to a Canon 7D, previous digital camera was a 350D, and I am very happy with the results. Mainly into UK freight scene and steam, and my favourite area's are the S+C, Shap area, Carlisle and of course the Clyde valley area.
The images I am uploading from the 80's are scanned from negatives and the camera I was using was a ..... Zenit ! Sorry if they are not up to today's standards. The images from my Zenit camera are up to July 1996.
I then moved on to a Canon SLR till 2006 when I changed to Digital.
Update, from June 2015 I am also using Canon 7D Mk11 along with my 7D.
I hope you enjoy my images and respect the copyright as they are all my own work, and if you want to use any of them , just ask !
