Keighley and District Local History Society was set up in November 2004, following the Centenary of Keighley Library. Although there has been a family history society for some time, it was felt that a dedicated local history society would benefit Keighley and help to preserve and strengthen our vast and varied Heritage of Keighley and the Local Area.

Our aims are to ‘Preserve and Share’, both recent history, and to research and preserve findings on longer-term history.

The archive of historical material kept by KDLHS has been gathered over many years from diverse sources. As a result, it is not always easy for us to ascertain exactly where the material kept in the archive has originated. All images in the collection not owned by KDLHS or not in the public domain, are presented on a non-commercial basis for private use, research and educational purposes only. Any use of any image in the collection outside of the Copyright Act 2014 is prohibited.
