There has never been a time that photography has not been a part of my life. My mother always had a camera on hand and when I was younger I was allowed to play with her Canon Rebel 35 mm and later on my mom was an early adapter to the dSLR Canon Rebel.
For years I waited (impatiently) until the day I could have my own dSLR and embark on my own photography adventures. In April 2012 that "far off" dream became a reality. Since then I have jumped into the deep end, taking pictures of almost everything, traveling, and renting several lenses even, to find what my niche is.
What I have found is not extremely surprising to me. My "niche" is I have none. I love taking pictures of landscapes, but also of animals. I love taking pictures of babies, I love candid, but I enjoy a few posed shots. Plants - I love taking pictures of plants! I love taking pictures - and I hope every time that I take the picture it's a little bit different than a picture that has come before.
Also something that I have found semi-unique about myself as a photographer: when I go to process the picture that I took - I look at what the picture is looking for - not my "style." Basically - should the picture be "bold and bright" or should it be "soft and dreamy" or even should this picture be "black and white"? Most of my picture I take the time to just check and see if it would be better in B&W even if I don't think it would, but if it fits, it stays. What fits the picture best is my "style."
Each picture I take I'm working on become a better photographer and better at interpreting how the individual picture should be processed. I'll never stop.
