I bought my first DSLR in January 2009 and photography has been my main hobby ever since.

My original goal was simply to take photos good enough that I'd be happy to have them printed, framed and hung on the wall at home. However, since joining a photography club I've grown and developed as a photographer and I'm always pushing for greater achievements. I've been lucky enough to have my photos selected to represent our club at interclub competitions where I've scored maximum marks, I've earned trophies and certificates for work in open and applied categories and had my work featured on promotional material for our annual exhibition. Every year I've attained a little bit more and the standard of my work has improved.

What I show in Flickr is hopefully a cross-section of some of my best work from the variety of subjects I've tried shooting.
