The Kalamazoo Humane Society was founded in 1897 and has served the community for over 100 years in the area of animal welfare and protection. KHS is a leader in animal cruelty prevention, pet population control and humane education.

As a non-sheltering facility, KHS works with the Kalamazoo County Animal Services & Enforcement Department to address the needs of stray and homeless animals, to eliminate animal suffering and to provide pet adoption counseling to citizens interested in adopting a pet.
