These many paintings, drawings and sketches are the different forms of love and what they are portrayed as. From having the love of your life, to the love of your family and friends. And the love that you may have or the passion you may have for something as simple as painting a picture. All of these many forms are contributed to the word "Love" and this is what is shown in my art.

The many peices of art that I have chosen for my theme "Love" have reflected as myself as an artist and many of my very own emotions. Also, many of my peices of art have improved intensly over the semester by learning the various techniques used by classmate, artists and the art teacher herself. My art skills from the beginning of the semester to the end of the semester have shown from what brush strokes to use with the types of paint and the lighting of the painting or drawing. How I have improved on these skills, is mostly on my own time outside of class. This extra time and practice that I have spent on my improving techniques have helped me inside of class also.

The artwork that I have chosen for this project are reflections of "Love" which is shown in my everyday life. This has been able to help me with my ideas, sketches and paintings. For example, the bond between sisters is incredible and this has given me an idea for one painting of mine that I used acrylic paints in, was a picture of a tree wtih leopard print on it because I am very interested in nature and I love abstract colour. Another example that I have seen from an outside point of view, is my Dad and his bestfriend. Which is what I see their friendship as something undescribable. So this as well has inspired me to draw a picture of the two on a surf trip they took together to Indonesia. Lastly, one of my peices of artwork for this project is a portrate of flowers, because flowers are a symbolic representation of love. Mainly in this unit I used acryilc paints, because there is more depth in my artwork with these paints. Not only are my sketches a major contribution to my theme but they show depth without physically seeing it.

My theme for my artwork is not only a reflection of my own life but the meaning of "love" is meant a lot in my life. I am surrounded by it everyday and this is why I chose to have this theme for my artwork. All of my artwork for this theme relates to love being a symbolic description of love, or a physical being of love or emotion love. Not only can love be portrayed as an obsession but it can be an infatuation with wanting to be in love, which is also shown in my artwork. There are various ways of tying up the meaning love. And everyway has a different meaning.

Having Love be in my everyday life, I believe that this was my main reflection for this theme. Not only does it play a big part in my life, it has helped me improve my artwork in many different ways, and techniques using many types of paint, charcol, and water colour. The simpleness of the theme of love, means so much more than just the word and this is why I chose Love to entitle my theme.
