My first camera, an Instamatic, was my 11th birthday present. I spent a lot of money on film even then.
My siblings, family and friends weren't safe from the lens. In junior high I joined yearbook and started taking both candid and group photos. I invested in my own SLR, a Canon AE-1, between first and second year university. I already had several years experience and even developing black and white film and photos.
I've always enjoyed shooting sports, but along with action I like to capture flowers and foliage.
I was introduced to my second nephew as Auntie Flash, based on the all the photos of his older brother. I've followed all of them with my camera in all of their activities.
While family sometimes begrudgingly lines-up for group shots, they are always happy later that we took the time to capture ourselves.
