I was just looking over Katie's photographs - in a kind of distracted way at the begining I must confess - but one of the things that suddenly started to struck me is the hints she leaves on here or there, as well as the challenge caused by the layers of so many conflicting emotions, such as the given empathy with the characters, especially in those with Mum and Dad, and also in her late series of self portraits - the latter, by the way, surely don't fail to make me think of a certain girl named Cindy and I'd like to think it's her Katie's got her inspiration from :) - So, not just the irony and humor but tragedy and poignancy and... Well... I just think there is no use questioning the whole relevancy of her doing it that way (not even bothered mentioning technical matters) because in the end, it works really nicely and there are just so many interesting things one can bring to her images... Damnit ! I feel like I might be a bit confused now, like waiting for the phone to ring but clueless about who that could be... In a way expecting it to be the antithesis of what I am expecting... But I am also definitely looking forward to seeing more !
