With degrees in graphic design and paper conservation, and a career in art direction in the seventies, Katie’s chequered background in the arts has left her with a wide ranging visual awareness. In 2001 she moved with her family to France where her passion for collecting antique linens, original ‘50’s fabrics and contemporary African materials has led to her current textile collage work (see above), as well as her decision to organise - in partnership with Carol Temple, an ex-teacher - quality, textile related, residential workshops. Her childhood in North Africa, studios in France and South Africa, and her love of gardening

have also strongly influenced her work and choice of workshop leaders.
