A 28-year-old marine biologist, Ph.D. student, and freelance photographer.

I've always been a pretty artistically-inclined person. A dancer for sixteen years, a singer, a writer, an artist. I grew up around artists - my grandmother the painter, my brother the artist and photographer, my aunt and father the photographers...somehow, that all translated into becoming a photographer in my own right.

About four years ago, a good friend gave me my first digital camera. Since then, I've been traveling the world, living and learning, experiencing life as much as I can, and documenting it the entire way. My passion for photography as developed as quickly and fully as my passion for life and travel and love and people has, and I think that passion and life is reflected in my photography.

In life and in photography, I'm still a work in progress, so I welcome any encouragement, contructive criticism, advice, or tips that any photographer, amateur or professional, is willing to provide!

If you are interested in booking a portrait shoot with me, please feel free to contact me at kasphotography@hotmail.com.

The black and whites of the natural settings (in the snow) and of the starfish, shells, and urchins are so full of texture. They make me want to reach out and touch my screen. I look forward to seeing more of her photos. :)
