Former JET in Gunma (2000-2004). I coach gymnastics and love traveling. These days I'm trying do more of it by bicycle. Several of my trips have focussed on trying to get the policy changes we need to move the developed nations toward a sustainable future: greater energy conservation, better cycling infrastructure, evicting ignorant politicians, limiting fossil fuel development, supporting carbon taxes, etc.

I'm also an eco-ranter. Yes, I recognize sometimes I'm a hypocrite but I'm working on it. I figure it's better to try to be imperfectly good than to embrace being consistently bad.
