My name is Katlyn Sadie Ann Parsons and I am a photographer and a model. You can see my profile under Kat-Lynn on Model Mayhem and on One Model Place. I started out modeling to see what it was like on the other side of the camera. It is not as easy as I thought! Hopefully, my work as a model will help me have a lot more empathy for the subjects of my shoots. I started taking pictures while a very young teenager and I have documented my friends, the fun, through the years.

I put up some of my modeling pictures. The summer ones were taken by Raffaella who did a fun walk about through downtown Edmonton. Others were by Nic Croken of Redlinephotography.ca

All my pictures in this site are under my copyright!!

I am attending Red Deer College and taking photography classes from Dwight Arthur. I attended an intense workshop last summer that gave me the courage to start taking pictures of my own and to also get into modeling. My photography teacher from high school mentored me through and was my "cheerleader".

As a model, I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with so many awesome photographers that took the time to treat me as an adult and to teach me things about the camera even when we were doing a modeling shoot. I can not even begin to say how much I owe these professional photographers who took the time to talk with me about pictures and photography. . You have motivated me in so many ways and I hope that one day I can be the person who helps the young photographer.

Lately, I have had some wonderful experiences as a photographer. I was invited to Sakatoon to meet Phil Haskins and do a model plus a photography shoot with him. I was a little intimidated as one does not want to mess up an engagement photoshoot or one of a model on a gigantic motorcycle. I am thrilled. I filled up one entire memory card and will be soon in the editing process.

I have been fortunate to have Tony Chan as my mentor as well. He is the master of lighting and portrait taking and he has taught me so much.

Right now, I am interested in trains, railway tracks, water, reflections, highways, and people. Being a teenager, things could change in a moment! However, I have finally found my main focus .... by being the model, it has taught me so much about the business and I have met so many professional photographers. Everyone has been so kind and I hope soon to have my own Photography site up and running. CHATOYANCE .... literally from the French means Cat's Eye! ......... Kat's Eye.

Life is pretty good!!
