Me and my cameras:

I am a mechanical engineer, currently in India.

December 2017 : Bought a new camera Sony SLT A-68 with kit lens 18-55. Fully compatible with my old lenses 35-70 and 70-210.

Photography is my favourite pastime and a passion. Started in 1986 with a Minolta Freedom 202 compact. Got a Minolta Maxuum 400si in 1995, with a 35-70 and 70-210 lenses.

Baptism into digital photography through a 1.3MP Olympus Cameda (2002). When traveling on profession, taking a bulky SLR kit is a hindrance, so curbed the urge to go for SLR and went digital with a compact Panasonic Lumix FZ8 instead.

(All my above cameras are gifts from my brother! :-) )

May 2012 : Bought Panny FZ150!

My photography:

My favourite subjects : Historic/archaelogical monuments (particularly Hindu temples), Woods in mist, Landscapes, flowers, children, pets, patterns,...

I like photos "as shot" - without too much post processing, the way the "camera" sees the world.

I think I will need more time to start enjoying unnatural looking HDR-processed pictures.

I strongly feel India (my home country) has more to offer than stereo type images - I love photos with India in the right "light" and perspective.

Lookforward to:

I enjoy weekend shooting expeditions with small groups of fellow snappers...
