Photography is not only about seeing, it's about making things visible. Rather than enjoying the moment, it is more about making things enjoyable after all, after all the looking, walking, sweating, waiting, hoping that one image will come, one scene that makes it all worthwhile.

It feels a bit like having two pairs of eyes: one for seeing in the sense of perceiving and one for seeing in the sense of anticipating.

To me, photography also means looking for a minimized version of the complex emotional world. To find an illustration of an idea, a feeling, a question in me. Every photo is a reaction to the visible and a result of the invisible. It corresponds with something inside. It requires being open for anything that appears: shape, shadow, color and light. The result will always be imperfect and it will reveal as much about the surrounding as about ourselves.

I prefer to take photos that don't require a lot more than the attentive eye.

My favorite photographers are Saul Leiter, Ernst Haas, Boris Savelev, Rebecca Norris Webb, Jessica Backhaus, Teju Cole, Gueorgui Pinkhassov only to name a few.

Among my favourite painters are August Macke, Gabriele Münter and Peter Doig.

Please contact me if you want to use any of my work.

Thanks for all your visits, faves and comments.

They are very appreciated.

we are not leaving

the world,

we are entering it,

taking with us

our memories,

like photos

of a land

we are yet about

to visit.

Dieser Moment des Lichts,

der sich nicht einfangen,

nur empfangen lässt,

das Licht auf der Cancha,

wie ein Spielkamerad

der bald schlafen gehen muss.

Karoline's photo's resonate on so many levels. This resonance is enhanced by her ability to isolate subjects and hone in on the essential message she is trying to convey. And the messages are powerful, touching on themes of our common humanity, on femininity, and the beauty and strangeness of the world we live in. In the ocean of Flickr photos, her photos stand out - be they on the trials of childhood, on "just life" as we live it, on all its "laugh at" ironies, Karoline's photos each descry "the one scene that makes it all worthwhile."

Extremely Original & Refreshing in a world of millions of images each & every day... If Flickr awarded Medaille d'Or, you would have the vote of many... Bravo from Paris!

I have become increasingly aware of karospictures’ work recently and believe she shows great promise with her distinctive visual sensibilities. The compositional aptitude on display is very sophisticated, likewise the overall creative originality. Key works of late include “light in the night”, “grüne Welle” and “westbound” but there are many others too. This is a photographer with something different to offer, something stylish and something so exciting to behold.
