I'm a retired history/science/re teacher living in Accrington, Lancashire, United Kingdom.

My first steps in serious photography involved a Minolta SR7 camera, Gnome enlarger, rudimentary blackout curtains and a bedroom floor.

The digital photography experience is wonderful, but nothing quite matches the thrill of seeing my first black and white prints gradually appearing in a bath of Paterson Acuprint developer. But I ought to add, my nostalgia dates back to 1967.

I use, in the main, Sony alpha DSLRs - although strictly speaking, they aren't DSLRs at all, having no moving mirror. Perhaps a better description would be DSLTs with the 'T' standing for translucent mirror. Although always interested in new technology and advances in digital imagery, I try hard not to be an equipment geek. The camera is always secondary to the main impulse and creative design of the photographer.

I have had some success in having my images published and was the winner of the Lancashire Life magazine photographer of the year in 2014. I hope you enjoy looking at my photostream and thanks in advance for any comments you feel like making.
