Welcome to my photo journal where light, shadow and imagination are my playmates.

The best way to feel your way through my world is to choose a favorite CD, or a classical or ambient station and click on the little square with the arrow on the right side of the page. Because life can be so busy I don't always respond to comments, but they are SO encouraging and I always take them as invitations to discover the works of other photographers here. If you don't see any typed comments from me, but notice your views going up, I may have been clicking away on your pages.

I take photos daily and make videos regularly, but only post a few things here to entertain and inform close friends. If you are interested in collaborating, feel free to write me here or my karmenrose website and ask..

My toys enable me to play with and combine - photography/graphic design/music composing/filmmaking/storytelling. Sometimes I play characters in images and music, often it's the only way I know to express myself. Words, visuals and meanings don't always cooperate, my intent can collide with what is perceived. The result - part me, part the observer, is always changing, often un-expected, but as an art form, my preference.

I use myself as a model when I have no one else around to try things on, or can't convince them to be my subject. These are not intended as self-portraits. Often ideas come in late at night. I love the moods of the human form and how it makes fabrics play with shadow and light.

Since discovering this photo site, I have been delighted to view the immense talent and creativity of the Flickr community. Perhaps you'll take a moment to go through my "favorites" to find some other collections to peruse. I wish everyone could have the opportunity to sit back and watch the daily delights posted here.

During a time when the world often seems on the brink of despair and ugliness, I find here an amazing display of just how beautiful this planet and many of the people on it truly are.

Perhaps we are worth saving.
