I'm a Chicana photographer from Los Angeles, now living in Humboldt County for the past 13 years (McKinleyville, Arcata, Eureka areas). I graduated from Humboldt State University with two BA degrees in Journalism Editorial News and English Literature.

Most of my work is freestyle and I tend to work solo on creative projects. I have an appreciation for human activity, preferably when in a natural state of being, such as when a person's face is relaxed and unaware of my lens, or when someone bursts out in laughter. There is a pleasing quality in portraiture, street photography, and social gatherings, that has proven to influence my creative process. My Journalism degree has enabled me to think like a photojournalist; therefore, I aim to capture action or candid shots that encapsulate a person's natural state. My study of literature has taught me the power of representation and the ability to deconstruct and juxtapose social ideas and most importantly, it has given me the power to tell a story. My story starts in the streets of Los Angeles and is interconnected with Michoacán, Mexico, a land I've never set foot on, yet hold dear to my heart.

Thank you for checking out my work!
