I've dabbled in photography since I was a child. In 2007 I finally went digital with a Nikon D80 and a pocket Pentax Optio. I switched some photos over to flickr when Yahoo Photos went under, planning solely to use it to store all my photos (I don't really have a computer of my own).

What surprised me about flickr was that random strangers came to visit my photostream and comment on some of my photos- I appreciate all the comments. One word of warning to you visitors- since I am using flickr to store ALL my photos, you might be more entertained by exploring the sets and collections, as opposed to the photostream.

I've also found inspiration from the amazingly talented photographers whose work I've encountered on flickr, many of whom I've asked for and received friendly advice. Thanks to my contacts and others for sharing their work!

I am not a very articulate writer, but I would just like to say a few words about Karen's work. Her photos are so varied and interesting you just never know what will pop up next, I love photographers who really explore their subjects and Karen is definitely one of those. I have particularly enjoyed her Bodie Ghost Town series and her Disney Concert Hall images are just perfect. Do take the time to explore her stream. On a personal note she is a great Flickr friend to have and is always there with a comment and some feedback.
