Artist Statement

“Art is the tool that I use to show my emotions, to express my beliefs, and to share new thoughts and ideas through unique visual representations. Shape, color, content and concept are the cornerstones of each piece. Working with bright oil colors and hard lines, I produce images that are often layered and pieced together, one on top of another. I am inspired by nature and the people that surround me. While creating I strive to bring a sense of truth to each subject. But the truth of each piece will only fully come together through the process of painting. It is my hope to create a sense of peace and wonder in the viewer; to encourage the viewer to look further into the piece until they find something new, something they hadn’t seen at first glance. But beyond self-expression, my aim is to use my art as a tool for speculation, inquiry, and the evocation of raw emotions.”
