Of all the arts I've participated in, photography has been both the easiest and the most difficult. Easy to take a photo, very hard to take a really good photo. My latest leading edge, other than continuing to try and improve technically, is learning how to communicate something personal-- something that seems to me to be more difficult with photography than other mediums. Sometimes I feel photography connects me to my subject, other times it seems the process of being an observer disconnects me from the observed. I'm enjoying playing with all the contradictions, and skating on the edge between them.

Kamphora is such an amazingly talented photographer. She was composing brilliant digital images with a point 'n shoot, then she purchased a Canon EOS XSi, and as the saying goes, "The rest is history." Now her camera has no limits and her photostream is filled with even more impressive diversity of subjects. When shooting photos with Kamphora, her enthusiasm inspires me to look at the world through the lense of my camera in ways which I have not always done so before. Some of my digital images are a result of her inspiration. I'm fortunate to have Kamphora as a wonderful Muse and friend. And I always look forward to our next photography adventure.
