I'm a retired librarian, born december 23, 1941, and I've been into photography a great part of my life. My favorite subjects: the garden around my house, my pets, the clouds over my head and all the rest that makes life worth living.
I hope to show others what makes me love life. I always take my camera with me, because each time I leave it at home I'll meet with a situation that makes me regret not having my camera handy!!
Beware: what I see and what I show is not the reality, it is my reality!! )
I also believe that photography is a very strong means to bring people together from all over the world, so as to create an understanding for each other and a realization that those 'others ' are exactly the same creatures as the 'we '! Flickr could be a nice start towards that goal!
Blocking Rule:
I hate to be a jerk about this, but if you don't have any photos I can see on Flickr (i.e., So-and-So doesn't have anything available to you), and you comment, note, fave or tag one of my captures, or try to add me as a contact, you are blocked. Period. If you don't have public pictures on Flickr, don't expect to share mine. People have stolen my photos in the past, both on Flickr and on the Internet, and the activity mentioned above is a tip-off.

My equipment: Nikon D50 with Nikkor 18-55, 55-200, 50mm1.8, and Sigma 70-300mmD, and flash SB-800 , and as of July 2000 a Canon digital Ixus 90 IS, a camera that's easy to always carry with me

I should have written these words about Fried a long time ago. Fried is one of my first friends here on Flickr and he's a constant factor in my dayly life. You can count on him for showing the beauty that surrounds him, being it landscapes, flower macro's, birds, his beautiful sun rises and sun sets, his cats, there is just too much to mention and all in prefect quality. Fried is a loyal friend to his contacts, his comments are never 'one word - hit and run' reactions, and his opinions mean a lot to me. Fried has advised me many times on equipment and he never fails to get back at you when you have a question. People like Fried are hard to find on Flickr and I treasure his friendship, it feels like we go a long way back and that he's been a good friend forever. Thank you Fried for the kind man that you are, may we all enjoy your beautiful pictures for many moons to come:-)
