Should you ever want a photographer to document your life, I think Karly would be the one to pick! I love the natural colors that her images always seem to have, and I also adore the fact that she shoots film, and shoots it so very well. Her Flickr stream has been a real pleasure to come across, full of heart and loveliness.

Karly, You have been a contact of mine for some time now, and I should have done this long ago. But I’ve been thinking a lot about Flickr, my contacts, and my motivations for spending time on Flickr. There is always a sense of excitement when I get a new contact and begin to get to know them through their photos and comments. Many, unfortunately, seem to fade quickly and I find it difficult to keep the effort up to make ‘worthy’ comments on their photos. Even more troubling for me is the lack of response to my own work. I tell you all of this because in the time I’ve known you on Flickr, you have been one of my most consistent contacts – both in making comments and producing wonderful photos for me to enjoy. What I most enjoy in your photos is the way they tell a story of your journey through life. You share what is meaningful to you in a way that draws me (and others) along for an engaging ride. You are always looking for ways to improve your craft. Your use of focus, camera angle, light, and composition is always interesting and most times very striking. I love your sense of purpose when you try new things such as the lens reversal technique, and the way you seek advice regarding new tools (cameras, lens, etc.) I appreciate that even with your busy life and schedule, you are devoted to taking and sharing your photos with the world. If I were to suggest anything to add to your photo work, I’d like to see more photos of people. I know that isn’t always easy to do, but I believe that using your photographic skills on people will bring you another avenue of success. You have ‘the eye’ to see what will be interesting and unique. Finally, through our exchanges of comments and messages I feel that I have not only gained a fellow photographer, I have gained a good friend. Seeing that you have posted new photos brings me a sense of comfort and anticipation. I especially value your comments on my photos because you spend the time to really look at them. I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavors, and hope that you will continue to share your views of the world. If there is ever anything that you think I could help you with (even though we are on opposite sides of the country), please don’t hesitate to ask. Take care, John (Oreofuzz)

Karly has such a unique style of photography, one that I find inspiring! :) One of the main things I love about her work is the overpowering feeling of happiness in each and every shot. I also adore how she captures every ounce of beauty of the summertime in her work. Not only are her photos joyful and beautiful to look at, they are nearly all sooc, which I really admire. To create images of such splendour and beauty without the help of post-processing is feat that most photographers would struggle to achieve. Karly is an inspiration to me as a photographer, and a blessing to me as a friend :)
