I've left this space blank for years but it's about time I wrote something about myself. I stay in Fife, although I travel all over Scotland in order to take photographs. I mostly focus on bridges, tunnels and waterfalls. When it comes to bridges, the main focus is on former railway viaducts, although I'm just as interested in road bridges or any kind of bridge for that matter.
With regards to tunnels, I've made massive trips to visit the UK's wealth of abandoned railway tunnels and to this date, I've visited over 50 former railway tunnels. In addition to that, I've explored a few mines and I'll happily take a look in any type of tunnel. Unfortunately, I've now covered most of the best abandoned railway tunnels in Scotland, meaning that I have to make longer trips to see new ones. As a result, this area may start to naturally dwindle as time passes.
Waterfalls have always played a key role in my life as I grew up next to a large, wooded gorge which is full of waterfalls throughout it's two mile length. This aspect of my photography tends to flag up more in the Autumn but I'll happily photograph any waterfall I come across all year round.
Panoramas are another big feature of my photostream as I like to capture all encompassing scenes and vistas and panoramas are definitely the best way to achieve that.
Recently, I've been experimenting with making short films whilst I'm out and about as way to keep things fresh. Whilst this aspect is still very much in it's infancy, the videos are meant to exist to complement the photography. As Flickr isn't the best place for video hosting, you'll find all the short films I've made on my YouTube page.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my work and I hope you enjoy it.
