I’m not a photographer — I don’t create art.
And I’m not an artist, either.
I’m just a copyist—nature is the real artist. (A borrowed thought, though I’ve forgotten from whom.)
I try to reveal how beautiful birds truly are. That’s why — to the quiet horror of the birdwatchers I meet — I never carry binoculars. Why? Because if the bird doesn’t reveal itself clearly through the eye of the camera, then perhaps it wasn't meant for me to see. To them, it's a lack of preparation. To me, it's part of the pursuit — my way of seeing and sharing their beauty.

Contemplar tus fotos es como gozar de la magia que contienen y que tú sabes captar con exquisita destreza. Gracias, maestro
A rich collection beautifully shot and painstakingly documented. Not dozens but hundreds of museum / guidebook quality photos. In sum, an astonishing achievement and a delightful, valuable resource.
J.V. has amazed me with his wild bird images, the variety of birds and their habitats he captures. His photographs are truely an inspiration.
