Retired commercial aerial and ground photographer, also with some staff newspaper "cameraman", it was that long ago, photographer, living in recovery, and enjoying the days, as I can, One Day at a Time.
I have a web site www.numinous.ca that has more information, about me, and what I do in this life. The site has a almost live web-cam that uploads to my site regularly, check it out, great view, and not bad optics.

I also have a rare type of cancer, carcinoid cancer, that has helped me to grow as a human being, over the last 17 years.
I try to raise research resources by giving my images away, in return, for cancer research donations, but not to me, only to recognized research centers.

SOME INFO REGARDING COPYRIGHT MARKED IMAGES, .
as stated by a viewer, "The large copyright logo takes away from the image."
Well that was the POINT.
That was so true, and at the time I created these images starting digitally in 1995 or 96, at least twelve years ago that this copyright stuff and the value of photography overall, others as well as my own, seemed to have a value much higher than that of today, lets face it due to the ease of access and quality of the cameras, general photography has next to no value anymore. Materialism and ego was much more important to me, but lets face it, living as a recovering cancer patient, this long, and being away, from the " top Commercial Aerial Photographer in the country" handle, all this ego stuff and making a living from my photography, has gone down the road a way, I hope, usually I can see my own ignorance and just plain dumbness, fairly quickly.
Less than half of my images on Flickr have been viewed, and I bet all of them have boring tags all over them, oh well.
Enjoy what you can, First Things First, peace.
I have nearly 30,000 images up on the net, on another Image Server; mostly from the webcam and If I ever have the desire to fish out those 100's of CDs and DVDs for the original created work, somebody, is going to have to inspire me to do that by making a donation to Cancer Research, after all that is the POINT here originally, to mark the work up so it was not usable.
If you want it clean, DONATE FUNDS to RESEARCH, and I will find you a clean file at size, Recently I have made a decision to revisit those early image files, and rework them.

I was asked when I started, and what happened, to arrive at what it is like now.
I began taking and processing photos, 1957, my father was moonlighting on his own doing a little aerial photography, using Fairchild K-16 cameras, and Korean war surplus film, 9-1/2 " wide at 75' long, short roll. He was working for a survey company, in the lab, and had been for a while, after, coming out of WWII as a RCAF photographer. So at the young age of, well never mind, but preteen, I was learning "tray work" as cheap labour for him, and a wonderful gift to me.
That was all large format B&W, 8x10 negs. what a gift.
so onward High School, big city, 2-1/4" square camera, shooting, sports, teams, and plays, etc., including film processing, and printing, as well as selling cameras, at a large city dept. store Friday nights and Saturdays, more full time selling cameras, after High School, all this time working part time in the lab in our basement. Later I landed a summer replacement Lab Tech job at a large daily newspaper, after the summer the job turned into a Staff photographer position, for five years, in the late 60's and early 70' at the Vancouver Province Newspaper, here on the West Coast. Long hair, "Press" set , music, bands, beads and girls, wine and other mind expanding substances, and PHOTOGRAPHY. What more could any young man ask for, anyway
It goes on from there, full time Corporate commercial aerial and ground photography, after my fathers ill health, in the mid 70's until cancer and booze, stopped me in 1992.
I went for a couple of years, through a lot of trauma, before I picked up a camera again, in 1995, and that was an SX-70, who would have ever believed, such a thing could happen.
Being in recovery and since, 1994, have had at least 12 different digital cameras, have four, in use now, Olympus C-7000Z as my Web-cam, a Canon Rebel converted to IR, a Leica D-LUX 3 as a pocket camera, and Canon 7D as the main travel capture camera, although I carry the last three, when traveling, changes to my life again, I am no longer able to travel much, day trips, as I am now on TPN, feeding, due to having an in-operational intestine, if you need more info, just Google "Home TPN" or "TPN" .
The greatest change in me is that I take and publish all my work, for fun and for free.
I try to raise funds for research, into a rare form of cancer, carcinoid cancer, that I have , information through my personal web site, which has a real digital camera on it uploading to the Web, 24/7. ULR is

I have had another image server for the last 5 or 6 years,
if I had known I was going to live this long, I might have tried to do it differently.
Sept. 2008, another trip to the Vancouver General Hospital, intestinal difficulties again, kinked, collapsed, and partially blocked small intestine and maybe another mass in my liver. Today is a new day, and for that I again, practice Gratitude. For if I am not Grateful, for all I have been given, throughout my life, then what would the point of all this.
Now the beginning of a new year, and the situation has morphed anew. In Nov.2008 my Oncologist phoned me to let me know the results of the latest Octreotide scan, so now I have lung and bone involvement, after I gained my senses back, and stopped free falling, since the floor really did feel to fall four floors, and in a indeterminate chunk of time, it could have been three minutes or three days, I my equilibrium has returned, and for that I am again, deeply grateful. Stay tuned the adventure continues, just for today.
Nov.30, 1992, was the day I was diagnosed, with Carcinoid cancer, over sixteen years ago. Sixteen years ! Gratitude and Willingness to Be of Service, and to change my selfish self centeredness, are the Keys to my life, thanks.
Now it is coming up to summer 2010, and after making more request for assistance, I have been given the opportunity to have made three trips, to a University Hospital, in Basel Switzerland, with no plans to return. The latest information is that it is in my right lung and right side of my heart, as this type of cancer, follows the blood system, once in is out of where it starts, usually, small intestine, then it goes liver, lung, heart, and bones, or put another way, where ever it wants, so systemic treatment radiation.. My goodness look what can happen if one can ask for help, certainly not something I had the capacity to do, when I was on the other path.
Update - a little late but I have been very busy staying on this side of the earth.
Last Nov. I could not handle all the intestinal stuff, and checked myself, into the Vancouver General Hospital, and few days later when conscious, I found out that I had two tubes hanging out of my chest, and was told that I would be getting all my nutrition via one tube, and the other was to keep all the pressure off my intestine, and then they showed my why, a couple of iPhone photos show the problem,a tomour that has so taken over the intestine, that the surgeon says he will not cut on it. This is due to not being able to tell what is what, at least that is my poor understanding. So No more traveling as I must be connected to an IV pump for food, check out TPN or HTPN, in GOOGLE for more info that you need.
So bad about traveling, I so enjoyed shooting places only dreamt about, Oh Well.
So here I am joined Flickr mid Jan. 2008 and now since traveling is harder, I think I will revisit all the images I have taken, as one can imagine, cameras and computers, and my own ability, to learn this digital medium, continues to grow. It have been about 15 years using this digital medium, and I sure do not know what is next.
It is all such an incredible gift.
A new life as an artist, not driven by the buck. For that..Yes Yes Yes !

By far my favorite computer artist who has the eyes, heart and skill to take a photograph and transform it into a breathtaking work of visual delight. I am in awe every time I see what you have done with your images. Would not be surprised to someday see your work hanging on walls around the world.
