"Make visible what, without you, might perhaps never have been seen." - Robert Bresson (1907-1999). To me this is the photographer's role. I have been fascinated with photography for over thirty years. A high school teacher, the late John Gutwin, started a photography club for students like me. I never liked the darkroom work, but was fascinator with what happened when you pointed a lens at something and went click.
Through the years I have self-taught myself technique. Artists who have influenced me the most include the Canadians who formed the Group of Seven. Another Canadian photographic artist, Freeman Patterson gave me cause to look differently at how I capture an image. Our environment is never two dimensional, although our products make it so. We need to do our best to bring about the experience of what is before us so the viewer can take delight or grow though our art.
I use a Nikon D60.
I thank you for taking an interest in my work. Your constructive feedback is most welcome.
