I got started with photography back in high school on the yearbook team. Black and white film and completely manual SLRs were what we used. It forced me to learn some of the basics.
After high school I was flipping burgers at McDonalds and had to take out a loan to purchase my first camera, a Canon EOS 10S and a few lenses.
Little did I realize the digital age was about to dawn.
Life circumstances were such that I didn't get a lot of use from that camera and haven't touched it in 16 or so years (still have it though).
I have owned a number of point and shoot cameras over the past few years, but just recently have upgraded to a really nice, super zoom P&S with full manual control (Canon PowerShot SX10 IS) so I can once again start getting more creative.
I look forward to getting out there and hopefully capturing some great shots as well as looking at some of the outstanding work flickr members are posting for ideas and inspiration.
