I've been a keen amateur photographer since before I took a few college classes involving black and white photography back in 1995, which taught me more about composition and how to develop and print with black and white film. I shot with a second hand Pentax ME-Super SLR camera and used a Vivitar 30-70mm and a Pentax 70-210mm lens. I now shoot with a Hasselblad C/M 500 after using a Mamiya 645 1000s for a few years. I mainly shoot black and white but do like to dabble in colour now and again. I'm also my harshest critic and consistently go through my Flickr photostream and delete any photo that I'm no longer happy with for whatever reason.

I shoot almost primarily with Ilford and Fuji film and have no desire at all to ever change to digital. I utterly abhor the use of Photoshop or other photo manipulation software in any way to alter and tweak photos to make them look better than what they actually are (like brightness, contrast, colour etc), and my current field of intrigue is portrait and people shots. I favour simple compositions above others (not that my photostream really reflects that) and am constantly trying to improve myself as a photographer.

There was a gap of about a decade in my photography for various personal reasons. I had purchased a compact digital camera for travelling and as an alternative to using a smartphone camera. I used it for a week, and decided that digital photography is just not for me. I shall be returning to my Hasselblad and the world of film photography.
