JustABigGeek - View my recent photos on Flickriver

Flickriver is a site that shows all your images in one long continuous stream instead of having to hit the Next button so much. Also the images are shown with a black background and at a consistent size. It really does look better than the standard Flickr. Please give it a look and see for yourself.

I'm a very quiet and shy person by nature. I guess that's why I like photography.

I got my first camera a Yashica FX-3 Super 2000 when I was in my early 20's and I really liked it. I was really into photography for a while. I even had a darkroom and tried making my own black and white prints. I got satisfactory results but nothing great so that phase eventually passed. After a few years I upgraded to the Contax system which was built like a tank and cost about as much. quite a few years later I made the switch to the less expensive and more available Nikon system (I got a N70 film camera). There were quite a few years after that where my photography was just the standard taking pics at family events and vacations etc... Back in 2002 I went digital and purchased a Canon G3 and started to get back in to some serious photography.

Then I discovered Flickr.... it's really brought the interest back into photography. This is especially true for me when I combined my new pride and joy (Nikon D80) and Flickr. Being able to take lots of pictures and not having to wait for them to get back from the processing lab combined with quick feed back from the members of Flickr has really helped foster my love for making images. Seeing all the great images made by people are really inspiring to me. It also shows me the potential of photography and how far I have to go.

Thanks to all the people that have added me as a contact and taken the time to make comments.
