What I like (and why)
I've loved photography since I was a kid and never was afraid to learn any new stuff the hard way - by trial and error. First with a cheapo Beirette box and later with my beloved Praktica.
When the digital photography first appeared, it somehow didn't feel real to me, so I put it off for years. But when I finally caved in and got my first digital, things suddenly revved up, shifted up to sixth gear - and to this day I still haven't found the brakes.
After a couple of decades of shooting both film and digitals, I'm happy to notice that I've eventually reached the stage, when now and then people actually ask me to be the official photographer of some events, products or whatever. That of course gave me an excuse for some better equipment, which I really love using day by day.
Better gear sure helps and makes it easier to achieve whatever you want – though I believe that in the end it's still the person behind the camera that counts, not the camera as such. Therefore my utter respect goes out to people, able to make great photos with simple equipment.
Anyway, I do like some photographic themes more than others - esp. anything that looks bizarre, weird, or far out of its place - but most of all, I like diversity. To change angles, approaches and styles. Thus, my stream gradually became a weird menagerie of whatever I found interesting since I joined Flickr.

About copyright & using my photos
While I'm a strong believer in public licenses, most of my shots are copyrighted for a reason.
I don't sell that much stock photos, but I always appreciate if someone offers to buy some. So, if you see anything you especially like in my stream, please don't hesitate to click that [Request to license photos via Getty Images] link next to the photo.
*nudge* *nudge* *hint* *hint* ;-)
Or even better - send me a message and request a photo session.
Every cent I make, helps me survive and support my family - esp. in this hard times. And allows me to take more photos.
If you're too short on cash, yet would still like to use a photo, please ask me before you do it. Unless you're making mentionable sum from it, I'll most likely allow you to use it for free.
Faves, comments and contacts
If people make a bunch of faves, without leaving a single comment (esp. if their own photostream is empty, yet tend to fave oodles of other people's shots - mostly belonging to a few similar themes), I might suspect they're compiling a stock to download en-masse and plan to sell it, without compensating the authors (in other words: stealing the photos).
I hate to block people, but in such cases, I do. Block and report them to Flickr.
If you like my photos, please do leave a comment now and then, not just empty faves. I love receiving comments and I'd really like to hear your own opinions about my pix - whether you like 'em, hate 'em, have suggestions for improvements or whatever.
(Invites to groups I can live without. But if you really must, try to limit them to one or two groups at the time, and - pretty please - don't use animated group icons.)
I do try to always return comments - if only Time, my cruel master, permits me to. It usually takes me some time to so though (sometimes hours, sometimes days or longer). Should I nevertheless miss any of your comments, I deeply apologize in advance.
I don't, however, always reciprocate when someone makes me a contact. I'm trying to keep the number of my contacts at a manageable number, so that I can keep in touch with them whenever I can.
If you are serious about exchanging opinions and visits, I'll most likely make you a contact back. If you're just passing by and/or collecting contacts though, please excuse me if I pass.
Nothing personal. Really. Just a matter of acute lack of time.

Just one more thing
I don't publish photos or any personal info about myself or my family members for several reasons.
But if you're really curious, here's s everything about my life and my physique that you (n)ever wished to know in Geek Code (yes, you can actually decode it, if you cut'n'paste it to this page):

He's got a keen sense of how the world works, and he not only tells you, he SHOWS you -- and that's the more important part. You see the world through JJ's eyes. No, I've never been to Slovenia (though I'd love to go), but his images which are so perfectly and uniquely Slovenia teach us about ourselves no matter where we are. Why? Because we're all human, and JJ puts forth his thoughts and his photography with that understanding. We are all the same. I always learn things when I visit JJ's pages. I always enjoy his photos, no matter what the subject (and his subjects are superbly varied). I'm glad to have met him, and I know that anyone who takes the time to study what he gives us will say the same. I'm proud to consider JJ a friend.

(except I didn't steal one of his shots yet but I think it's a great idea). I think a man should not get to much kudoos - at least that's what my wife says. I think I met JJ in the Power of Positive Relationship group - Which says a lot. The true power of being positive and meeting in a group. It was written I think. I love his whit, his observations and a true sense of artistry (although he would probably not agree with me). Some of his shot are truly OUTSTANDING. As engineers we are both of the same breed although I think I've moved away from the craft and you are ALL much safer believe me. So JJ is a "Cyberfriend" and we may never meet but that's OK. To know a man through his photographs is knowing the true soul of a person - I think. But this is pretty deep so I'll move on.

JumpinJack seems to me to be a clever bloke. He is a talented photographer, and his photos often make you think (sometimes quite hard). He appears to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of song lyrics, and he can always come up with the perfect lines to compliment a picture. His political views seem similar to mine IE the firmly held belief that practically all politicians are The Spawn of the Devil.

I always considered him a dear friend (also a deer friend), but now I'm not so sure what I did to him so horrible that he introduced me to flick community... Thinking of an appropriate revenge. Not so sure it'll come anytime soon as I'm spending all my free time (and than some) on these pages...

JumpinJack's stream is THE place to drop in on a dull day, when you haven't got out of your dressing gown and you should be doing something grown up and sensible, but you decided to do some irresponsible flickring instead. He does pithy humour with a huge heart. He does 'Quirky' with a capital Q. He does a great beaming smile right through his stream, his captions, his commentary and his responses. He does visual as well as textual narrative...and some. He does. ...and because he does, others do too. :D

His stream is so various, his photos cover a wide range of themes: social problems, flower macros, nature, landscapes, as well as his children's toys. Creative, wit, funny. And at the same time a great contact, not interested only in photos, but people behind them.

I can't make up my mind which is more entertaining- looking through Jumpin' Jack's photostream or reading his comments. In addition to having a keen eye for taking shots from a unique perspective, he's also extremely brilliant. I admire his witty sense of humor and his seemingly endless grasp of history and current affairs. Jumpin' Jack is also quite the "IT guy extraordinaire", generously sharing his knowledge and lending support to his Flickr friends without hesitation. Check out his "geek code"- it's proof positive this is one geeky guy- and I mean that in the most complimentary way!
Read lessI really like Jack's Stairway to Heaven photo. I like it so much that I stole it. I posted it my flickr page and showed all my friends to impress them. I even sold prints under false pretenses. As part of a court order, I would like to apologize and say that this will probably never happen again.
