JULIO ROBERTS was born in Hollywood on April 18, 1967. His father was American, his mother was Irish. He had a happy and carefree childhood. While he was a teenager, he began to write comedies such as “Luitpold heart of Pretzel” and “Hysterical Lieselotte”. At the age of 18, after the big flop of his comedy “The indecent thoughts of a flute player” playing in Las Vegas, he goes mad and, dressed like Elvis, he smashes up the shop-window of Agent Provocateur and starts throwing marbles against passers-by using a lace bra as a catapult. He is arrested. He feels unappreciated, so he stops writing and decides to move to Europe. It’s 1986. He lives for one year in Paris, where he works for a famous maitre chocolatier. He is detected eating chocolate in secret, so he has to go away. In 1987 he moves to London looking for success. He becomes friseur for famous dogs. After two years he meets an Italian showgirl who’s working in London. He falls in love with her madly and decides to follow her in Italy. It’s 1990. Love flares up again inspiration in Julio: he writes his last comedy “Tragic Christmas with the Pooh”, then illustrated tales that are collected in two volumes: “Bubusettete”, published in 2007, and “Shampismo e rivoluzione”, published in 2008. In the meantime, to give free play to his passion for drawing, he “juliorobertsizer” famous and non-famous people.
