When she’s not locked away in her study, furiously pounding out another critically acclaimed young adult novel, Julie teaches horseback riding to quadrapledgic children. In 1999, she won the Academy Award for best editing in a short subject for her film, "Tut, Tut; It Looks Like Rain." In 2004, she earned a dual Ph.D. in Victorian Literature and Astrophysics from the University of Alberta. She also likes to exaggerate, just a little.
