My love affair with photography began at a very young age. My father, who also has a passion for picture taking, introduced me to my first Polaroid instant camera. The love for photography only grew, and along with that came upgrades. I enrolled in classes and learned darkroom photography. I was given a Nikon FE film camera with a 43-86mm lens, and used it until my 2nd year in college, where sadly, it had to be put in pawn for rent. I stopped for a few years, until I purchased a Fujifilm 35mm camera. This sparked my love for the 2nd time. I knew the Fuji camera wasn’t the greatest, but I worked with what I had. This camera was laid to rest after a freak Dr. Pepper accident. Shortly after, I decided to try digital photography. I invested in a Fuji Finepix F470 6MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom. It was a great beginner digital camera, but only left me wanting more. About a year ago, I decided to bite the bullet, and invested in an Olympus Evolt E300 8MP Digital SLR with 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 & 40-150mm f/3.5-4.5 Zuiko Lenses. Currently my Olympus and I love to photograph anything that catches our interest. I love art photography, photojournalism, travel photography, and dabble with a bit of people/portraiture. Black and white photography is my favorite. I wouldn’t necessarily call me an ‘artist’, but my passion deems me a photographer. Photography is an outlet for me, a relief from my day job. As an adult, I am very aware that photography won’t pay the bills, but I have done freelance work around the state, mostly for bands.
