Born in Paris to a Malian father and French mother, Julia Channel was truly the product of her artistic parents, finding comfort and solace in films from the golden age of Hollywood. Watching the talented singers and dancers on screen, such as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, Julia Channel was transported to another world, far away from the often troubling reality she was faced with.

Growing up with a continued interest in the arts, Julia Channel finally embraced her destiny, having been both a successful model and actress, she embarked on her true calling, to be a solo singer.

Through the unfortunate circumstance of losing a close friend, mentor and music industry contact, Julia Channel found herself on the precipice of a huge change and took a leap of faith, swapping one city of culture, Paris, for another, London.
