Stepping into this stream is a very refreshing move. Jules is such a lovely talent...her work is raw and true to life, but also very thoughtful and creative. Not many people can make another happy face or a junk car look interesting again...yet she manages! Right....Jules... First off, when i seen her stream, i was gobsmacked, her treatment, content, and subject matter are many and her imagery is just brill! A mooch in Julies pix are an adventure and an assault on your imagination, Donaghadee should now have a place on the web all to itself...NOTHING escapes her lens viewing! She inspires me, but above all else, Julie is a truly good being, taking time to comment and has even been known to make me snuffle, but has a little warped and wicked sense humour going on. THAT very much appeals to me! A perfectionist in her work and has no fear in trying new techniques, shes a wee pet! GO! That time when you think you've visited all your usual venues and taken all the angles. Let's call it an "imagination failure". Don't panic - just point your browser at Shutterbug's photostream. i've been meaning to do this for some time now, so i'm going to bite the bullet and write some praise before the whiskey bottle comes out and i put it off for another day, this will be totally off the cuff, spelling mistakes and typos, one take. shutterbug is one of the best local photographers i know, but you all know that too if you're in here reading this. b&w or colour, it doesnt matter, its her eye that counts, sees what we dont till we're in here in awe of what she captures. the camera helps, a little knowledge too, but no matter how expensive or the number of photography courses/books indulged in if you dont have the eye you dont see the picture and shes obviously one that does. i should leave more comments, faves, trophies, not just for s'bug but all my contacts, all i can say is i always look, even if theres a backlog of 3 or 4 pages, but i must confess s'buggy and a few others always have me clicking their thumbs first, cause she and they are fabby.

Julie did me a nice testimonial so I thought to myself ‘heck, I’m sure I could say a few words in return’. As well as being a chatty, friendly lass; I always get the impression that Julie lives life with two fingers stuck in the socket. This becomes evident when your Photostream is ‘hit’ by Julie or you ask a question and get War & Peace in return. Always relevant, always constructive, always articulate. It’s also very obvious that Julie goes about her Photography with even more passion. To add Julie to ‘Your Contacts’ is to sometimes have ‘Your Contacts Photo’s’ make like ticker-tape when Julie’s in the house. That said, I’ve never seen a bad photo on Julie’s Photostream (ok, ok some of her HDR attempts were maybe a bit dubious) and there’s something for everyone since Julie’s no snob about her photography and shares most of what she’s taken. I like that Julie’s willing to (like me) chat and learn to improve her photography and I like her brand of honest and genuine Flickring. It’s the camera I feel sorry for… it must cough, splutter and smoke by the end of each day!

I have only known Julie for 6 months, but something I already know for sure is that she is one of a kind. The enthusiasm, determination and passion that this girl has for photography would be hard to beat! I have seen Julie try many different techniques and learning along the way - her style blossoming into something special. She is not afraid to try something new, and perserveres if if things do not go to plan the first time. Her macro flower photography is outstanding, and Ive got to see most of Northern Ireland in her photostream as she is always on the go taking fantastic landscapes. As a friend she always supports and encourages my photography, and is always there with her wicked Irish sense of humour. Im lucky to know her. Hats off to you Julie - you should be proud of who you are and how far you have come since first picking up a camera. She is always trying new things and experimenting. she is always active on the group forums that she is a member of and daily becomes a better photographer as she keeps learning.
