After taking ownership of a Pentax K20D at the end of July 2009 I became obsessed with trying to improve my photography. I resolved to take a photo-a-day for a year and built a website in order to keep a daily photoblog. After a year I continued with a weekly blog, but missed the challenge and discipline of a photo-a-day and started again on 1 January 2011.

In addition to my Pentax 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses I have also purchased a Sigma 50mm macro lens, which I am still coming to terms with, having only achieved minimal satisfaction with close-ups so far. I also have two compact digital cameras - an Olympus and a Sony - both of which have been reliable friends over the past few years and particularly before I bought my DSLR, and which I still use from time to time when it is more convenient to take out a small camera.

The more I learn, I have concluded, the more there is to Iearn. so much to take in, so little time! But Flickr is the place to learn!
